Rapid development and popularization of the Internet
Rapid development and popularization of the InternetIn recent two decades, with the rapid development and popularization of universe mesh and calculator technology, internet has been an integral part of both human daily life and financial market. Based on the World Internet Stats (2010), the number of internet users approximately the world totaled 1.97 billion by June 2010, increased 444.8 percent over the last decade (Figure 1). Gilmore et al (2007) stated that adopting internet and e- merchandise strategy within logical argument provide small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) an opportunity to reduce cost, improve competiveness and expand businesses. With a growing number of SMEs are combining internet and mesh site with business, it has become the mainstream for SMEs in the world to adapt internet technologies to expand business and grow themselves. In simple terms, e-marketing refers to achieving business goals by using world wide web (WWW), instant messaging, emails, onl ine payment and other forms of internet related technologies (Gilmore et al., 2007). An e-marketing strategy includes the actions taken in order to promote a brand via the internet and a good e-marketing strategy plays a most signifi lott role in the success of a business (Rampur, 2010).Figure1 Internet Users in the World by Geographic RegionSource World Internet Stats (2010)It is widely believed that large enterprises contri thate a lot to the economy. However, SMEs also play an important role in both world and local economy. SMEs are not only an important revenue contributor, but also a great job opportunities provider. To be detailed, SMEs depict for 98.9 percent of total number of businesses, 77.3 percent of employed people, 65.6 percent of gross industrial come onput value, 63.3 percent of sales revenues and 54 percent of total sugar in China (Singh and Garg, 2010).With Chinas entry into World Trade Organization (WTO), China government has shown the ambitious to encourage b oth state-owned enterprises and SMEs to walk with worlds pace. In 2002, SME Promotion faithfulness of the Peoples Republic of China was carried out to support and encourage the development of SMEs in China. According to Hong (2010), Jiangsu commonwealth has strong competitiveness not only in per-capital GDP, but also in internet penetration. As a representative of Chinas SMEs, Jiangsu province also carried out policies to promote the development of SMEs and improve international competitiveness such as Promotion Rules of SMES in Jiangsu Province.Though the development of SMEs is booming and some of the SMEs in Jiangsu are considering marketing strategies via Internet, a number of SMEs are still implementing marketing strategies in traditional ways. They prefer to focus on the products and services from the supplier perspective instead of customer perspective (Sheth and Sharma, 2005). The fact is that SMEs who are adopting new mature technologies have enjoyed benefits of e-market ing and achieved advantageous position (Chong et al., 2009). For example, some SMEs are using email as an important medium to communicate with customers, to share products and services information with customers and enhance customer loyalty (Merisavo and Raulas, 2004). In the meanwhile, some SMEs are thinking highly of online platform such as the third-party website Alibaba.com. Suppliers and buyers prefer to transact through Alibaba.com for low requirement, current online payment and large market share (Zhao et al., 2008).It is the time for all SMEs to reconsider the traditional way of doing business and think more of e-related marketing strategies. Under this situation, it is a great opportunity for SMEs in Jiangsu to follow the world trend and do business with new e-marketing strategies.Literature ReviewWith the popularization of the Internet and website, there start a trend that more SMEs prefer to marketing their brands via Internet. A large quantity of look intoers and aut hors has done researches on e-marketing strategy.Drivers and barriers to e-marketing adoption amongst SMEs were stated by Gilmore et al. in 2007.Chong et al. in 2009 carried out a questionnaire about the seasons, problems and benefits of e-marketing. The most frequency answer tends to be competition in the marketplace, security and better relationship with customers, respectively.Singh et al. in 2010 concluded promotional policies for SMEs by the Chinese Government, which gave us a comprehensive understanding of the contribution that the government made for the sustained, steady and fast development of SMEs in China.Stephen Rampur in 2010 pointed out several components of e-marketing strategy, which are search engine optimization (SEO), email marketing strategy, online advertising, online newsletters and media news rooms. To conclude, a large quantity of previous researches and studies have been made to seek e-marketing and SMEs and e-marketplace, of which some studies may based on t he Chinese economy. Nevertheless, merely a few studies focused on B2B e-marketing strategy for SMEs. As a consequence, this paper leave behind provide a deeper study on the topic relating to B2B e-marketing strategy for SMEs especially in Jiangsu province. explore questionsWhat is the current situation of the development of the e-marketing technology in Jiangsu province? What is the B2B e-marketing adoption amongst SMEs in Jiangsu province? What are the components of B2B e-marketing strategy for SMEs in Jiangsu?Research ObjectivesThis paper has following objectivesProvide an overall understanding of the development of e-marketing technology in China and Jiangsu province.Understand the current situation of the B2B e-marketing adoption amongst SMEs in Jiangsu province.Highlight the role that internet plays in B2B e-marketing strategy.Find out the components of B2B e-marketing strategy for SMEs in Jiangsu province.Research MethodologyBoth quantitative analysis techniques and qualitative analysis techniques will be applied in this research, which consist of several steps questionnaire design, data charm and data analysis. Online questionnaire will be carried out to collect original data from 200 managers of SMEs in Jiangsu province. The current situation of e-marketing adoption amongst SMEs will be analyse through these data. For example, for a question Have you ever used Internet technology to develop your business?, if 60 managers answered yes, one basic conclusion can be made that three tenth of the SMEs in Jiangsu have adopt e-marketing strategy. The reasons why online questionnaire method was used are that the cost is low, the result is more precise and the respondents have little hesitation (Saunders, et al., 2009). Moreover, interview with 20 information management and information system (IMS) students will collect data for open-ended questions.Research designingResearch ResourcesResources needed for this research include a book called and other book res ources borrowed from the Library of Xian Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU). Eight months will be taken in the research from September 2010 to May 2011. Furthermore, a computer linked to the internet with Microsoft Project installed will be used. It should be emphasized that in order to obtain faculty member research papers and articles online, the computer should be used within the boundaries of the XJTLU campus.

My experience in Malaysia: A reflective report
My experience in Malaysia A reflective reportIts not easy to leave your country of origin and to manufacture down in another country where you are a visitor but my experience in staying Malaysia is incredible. Malaysia is one of the most beautiful and fascinating tourism destinations of S placeh East Asia. Malaysia comprises out two parts, Peninsular Malaysia, which is placed between Thailand in the north and Singapore in the south, and the two provinces Sabah and Sarawak, located on Borneo. It has a rich history courting back to the 13th century moreover it was a busy port for Europeans and far trades for many hundred years. It is a racial country with has a rich cultural heritage and a population of 23.27 million consisting of 61 percent Malays, 30 percent Chinese, 8 percent Indians and 1 percent of other ethnic groups. In 15th century Malacca was the initial name to Malaysia. In the year of 1957 Malaysia gained its independence from the British. Later in 1963 afterward the fus ion of Singapore Sarawak and Sabah into a central union in which Malacca was called Malaysia. It is surprising to know that the Diversity of races, religions and cultures is an important characteristic of Malaysians. As moving from last(prenominal) to 21st century Malaysia is a modern city with shopping mall, cinemas, inter issue hotels and star bucks everywhere. Knowing the brief history behind Malaysia after 4 hours sit down on plane I arrived into Kuala Lumpur which is the capital and the largest city in Malaysia. I was greeted by a member of a staff who then latterly took me move out to hostel that night. Next morning I was warmly greeted and met the rest of the international schoolchilds. It was a great day suffering them because I was happy to meet roughly of my collides who stayed with me in Srilanka. Accommodation costs are comparatively cheaper away from the city so as i moved into an apartment about 5-8 minutes locomote from campus. At the campus there were rich var iety of backgrounds, nationalities and cultures. Accommodating a community of 40% international students, studying at the Malaysia Campus is a great way to meet people from across the globe, learn about their cultures and communicate people about your own. Being in a newly expanded campus most of the facilities were new, Wireless network, depository library with latest collections of books, nice lecture hall with new computer and projector and overly the shuttle service were amazing. The courses and t to each oneing methods were not very different from what i waste learnt in my country. When it comes to food Malaysia food is a mix of Indian, Chinese, Burmese and traditional Malay title. As for now I used to have my lunch, dinner in cafeteria. Sometimes when i get sick of the campus food I would just go to the restaurants nearby because there are number of small home style restaurants that offer delicious food at low prices.Trying out the Malaysians national dish Nasi lemak which is served with steamed rice, coconut milk, curry chicken or beef, heat up anchovies and sambal was totally different when comes to the taste of red rice and curry. As a Sri Lankan student in Malaysia I wasnt felt out of place because Malaysian culture is so way similar to srilankan traditions. On top of that, there are many places of interests in country such as beaches, islands and rain lumber where you could fresh out from stress.Malaysias rain forest is deliberated as the oldest in the world so as the largest flower of the world, Rafflesia, is found in the rainforest of Malaysia. The different species of animals and build life continue to enthuse a great deal.As a student to Malaysia, I discovered a wide range of customs and practices, whatsoever of which is different from what i practiced at my country. With different mix of races, religions and cultures Malaysians celebrate variety of festivals such as Chinese New Year, Hari Raya Puasa, ThaiPusasm, Deepavali and Christmas. Being an international student I did have its ups and downs. Major problem was adjusting with the language as Malay is the official language but English is also often spoken out as it is the second language, but I have largely adapted to it now. The pace of life in Malaysia is gentle, steady and everyone moves with a purpose and goal. Climate in Malaysia is different from my country as its generally warm throughout the year. Astonishingly they have only two seasons its the dry and the rainy season. Malaysia which is considered to be the most attracted tourist residence consists numerous places to visit such as the Kula Lumpur the largest and busiest city in Malaysia has the tallest twin buildings called Petronas Twin towers and it was established the worlds tallest towers in the period of 1998 to 2004 and the sixth tallest telecommunication tower in the world. Redang Island in Terengganu is one of the finest coral and marine ecosystems in Malaysia. Following with the Cameron highlan ds a place for coolness, fresh fruits and vegetables. The national park Pahang for ecological wonders. moreover the Petaling Street, the Centre of Kuala Lumpurs original Chinatown, maintains much of its traditional atmosphere, particularly at night and the Batu caves which is a limestone hill consists of series caves and caves temple located in north of Kula Lumpur. I explored some of the best cultural and natural sights, venues and places in Malaysia. One of the best places I visited in Malaysia was the Sunway Lagoon Theme Park, because it has quintet different theme parks at one place. If Disney land is happiest place in earth probably Sunway Lagoon Theme Park the most fire and amazing place to see. Malaysia has some of the most attractive cave systems in the world. Among the more famous are the Niah, Mulu and Clearwater caves. With a charted length of 100 kilometers, the latter is considered Asias longest cave system and grades tenth in the world. The Clearwater River which flo ws through this cave system is one of the worlds biggest famous underground rivers. As others countries Malaysia is also endowed with natural resources such as agriculture, forestry and minerals. Rubber was one of the mainstays of Malaysia economy which was lately replaced by the oil palm.Meanwhile Malaysia comprises three major cultures Malay, Chinese and Indian, each culture has its own traditional and religious objects of materialing all of which is gender precise and may be altered to local impacts and conditions. The Malay wears the Baju Kurung and the Baju Kebaya. Besides the Chinese women wear the cheongsam, it is a one-piece dress with a high neck, diagonally closed with small clips or toggles. The Indians wear very colorful saris in a rich variety of bright and refined dyes for their usual prayer in the temple and for everyday living. However for the Malay culture, the men usually wear Baju Melayu with a cap, on their head. Traditional clothing for men in Malaysia consists of a silk or cotton skirt and shirt with a scarf like piece of cloth tied around his waist. Meanwhile the Indian men wear Sherwani, which is a coat like clothing fitted close to the body, of knee-length or longer and initiative in front with button. They also wear Lungi, Dhoti and Kurta and Pajama.Wedding style is unique from other countries. The activities that take place during Malay wedding often come from the diverse cultural traditions indigenous, Hindu and Islamic those have together served to shape traditional Malay culture. Each wedding take place in their traditional way. Moreover the stability and peacefulness of Malaysia is a unique and a peaceful environment to live besides it is a great place if you love hot and humid climate, and if you are food lover.

HEC-HMS Evaluation
HEC-HMS EvaluationHEC-HMS is a hydrological fashion model that can be apply to represent the effect of a storm based event on a washbowl or a continuous simulation. HEC-HMS is distributed model but it deals with a peeshed as a conceptual model which consist of sub-basin and tinct. HEC-HMS is very powerful as it has many options for hydrological calculations and a user-defined is one of the options. One of the uses of the HEC-HMS is to predict the future urbanization that can happen in a watershed and the corresponding flood that could happen. HEC-HMS alone cannot get the places of the flooded athletic field but the hydro represent extracted from the HEC-HMS can be used in HEC-RAS and RAS-mapper to get the inundated map of the city due to a certain storm event. In this lab, a simple simulation allow for be used to simulate the hydrograph of Tifton watershed. In order to build a HEC-HMS project, there are fixingss should be added first. The main components that the HEC-HMS r equire is the basin component which contains the basin properties such as sub-basins, reaches and junctions, the metrological component which contains the f totally gages that will be used for precipitation, the control component which contains the simulation time goal and the time series component which contains any time series selective information such as the hyetograph or hydrograph.HEC-HMS has four main windows which are the component window, view window, editor in chief window and cloyedness log window. The component window contains all the created components so that we can toggle between them. In order to edit any of the components chosen from the component window, the editor window is used and it contains tab but for global selective information entry or edit the component menu is used. The view window shows the selected basin, result or table. The log cognitive content shows if there is error or the model has found no problem as for example as shown in range of a fu nction 1 the log message says, Note 10008 Finish opening project. Which means that the project was opened successfully with no errors found. write in code 1 Log message of HEC-HMSBasin componentAs mention forwards that the HEC-HMS is conceptualizing the watershed, so we will import the watershed image as a background as shown in Figure 2 and draw on it the corresponding component. This is a simple watershed that contains only one sub-basin and one sacking. the sub-basin is named 74006 and the outlet is junction in HEC-HMS and there is no reach used for flow channel routing.Figure 2 HEC-HMS desktop viewThe sub-basin properties should be entered for HEC-HMS to use in calculations. The main property is the catchment area as the HEC-HMS is using all the catchment symbolled in one point (sub-basin 74006). The other properties that should be entered are the hydrological calculations that the HEC-HMS will use to calculate the hydrograph at the outlet of the sub-basin as shown in Figure 3 .Figure 3 Sub-Basin hydrological calculation mannersCanopy is the method used to calculate the water intercepted on the tree that avoid the water to reach the ground. The percentage of vegetation obtained from remote sensing is used to determine the canopy. In this lab, simple canopy method is used which need only the initial water storage in the tree and the maximum storage that the plant can hold.In order to indicate the surface storage that can happen in the watershed there are different methods, in this lab a simple surface is used. The simple surface method is mainly saying how much is the initial storage and the maximum storage. The maximum storage provide in this lab is zero which is useless as the surface method can be selected as none instead. To get the parameters of the initial storage and maximum storage a site investigation can be done or throughout satellite maps and DEM the surface depletions and storage area can be calculated roughly.Infiltration losses is indicate d here as the loss method. The loss method that is widely used is the Horton equation but in this lab the soil moisture loss is used. The soil moisture loss method mainly works as the soil moisture content and the maximum infiltration rate of the vadous zone of the soil as well as the groundwater beneath the vadous zone depth and the percolation rate from vadous zone to the groundwater and if the groundwater is into two different soil type provide the data to each soil type. In order to get the data for this method a soil surveying is required or from a previous defined data as the FAO maps or Canada CIRUS maps. The unit hydrograph for the basin is not cognize so a synthetic hydrograph will be used. There are different synthetic hydrograph methods in HEC-HMS, in this lab Clark (1945) Hydrograph is used. The Clark Unit Hydrograph is divided into displacement reaction based on synthetic time area curve and time of concentration as well as a reduction of discharge as superabundanc e rainfall is stored in watershed. Clark Unit Hydrograph is modeled with linear reservoir for baseflow. The parameters for the Clark Unit Hydrograph is the time of concentration and the storage coefficient. Time of concentration can be calculated using watershed properties or from previous observations but the storage coefficient most plausibly will be calibrated. The linear reservoir is used for baseflow separation. Baseflow is linearly related to honest storage of each time interval similar to the Clark unit Hydrograph. The linear reservoir also is used with the soil moisture content as it depends of the water in the groundwater and how it returns back to be a contributed to the hydrograph as a baseflow. The parameters of the baseflow is hard to measure so it will be most likely calibrated.Time series componentIn the time series component, a rainfall hyetograph is entered in the rain gages using the Tifton DSS file provided with the project. aft(prenominal) entering the hyetogra ph, the graph can be shown as shown in Figure 4. The hyetograph will then be assigned to the basin in the metrological compenent.Figure 4 Tifton HyetographIn the time series component, also the observed outflow hydrograph of the catchment is entered using the Tifton DSS file. After entering the DSS file the hydrograph is shown as in Figure 5. The hydrograph should be used for model calibration of the unknown parameters.Figure 5 Tifton observed hydrographMeteorological componentIn the meteorological component, the hyetograph is assigned to the sub-basin and if there are more than one rain fall gage a weighted average can be assigned to each sub-basin. Also in the meteorological component, the evapotranspiration is entered. In this lab, monthly average is used which gives a constant value for each month and corresponding coefficient.Control componentFinally, the control component is used to define the simulation period and time interval. In the lab, according to my group number which is 15 the corresponding simulation time is used which is from the first of January 1970 to the thirties of June 1970.After finishing all the data entry, a simulation manager is used to create a simulation which is defined by selecting the basin, meteorological and control data to be computed. After creating the simulation, compute is chosen and a message of successful appear in the message log -if there is any error or warning will appear in the message log too-.From the results tab, a global summary can be viewed as shown in Figure 6. The global summary gives the drain area contributing to each sub-basin and each junction and the time to peak and the corresponding peak discharge as well as the total wad of excess rainfall. In this lab, there is only one sub-basin so the sub-basin and junction will have the same properties. The peak discharge is 873 CFS and happened in the thirty-first of litigate 1970 at 100 PM. The total excess volume is 16.36 in.Figure 6 Global SummaryThe grap h of the sub-basin 74006 shown in Figure 7 show the hyetograph in the top part which consists of red and blue. The red part shows the infiltrated depth while the blue line shows the excess rainfall depth. The bottom part of the graph shows the hydrograph which consists of the baseflow and the excess hydrograph. The blue solid line shows the hydrograph while the dotted red line shows the baseflow. As we can see that in January all the rainfall is almost infiltrated and there is no excess and that is reflected in the hydrograph as there is no excess hydrograph only baseflow. The peak rainfall events happened at the end of March and May and as we can see that there is a lag time between the peak of the hyetograph and the hydrograph which represent the time of the water to route though the watershed to the outlet of the catchment. Even both event in March and May has the same rainfall but the peak was higher in March due to the infiltration difference. The infiltiration that happened in May was larger than March as the soil moisture content in March was high due to event happened just before the peak event while before May peak event it was dry for almost two months.Figure 7 Hyetograph/Hydrograph of Sub-basin 74006The hydrograph of the junction shown in Figure 7 shows the hydrograph coming from each sub-basin the blue dashed line and the total summation of all the hydrographs at the junction the blue line and the observed data the black dotted line. The dashed blue line and the solid blue line are coinciding because there is only on sub-basin that contribute to the junction. As shown in Figure 7, the observation and the hydrograph at the junction as almost the same which means that the parameters and methods used in the HEC-HMS are representing the reality quite well.Figure 8 Hydrograph of JunctionHEC-HMS can simulate storm event to get the flow hydrograph of the catchment. It is important to use the adequate method based on the data availability. The model should be calibrated using the observed data. HEC-HMS can gives how each sub-basin can contribute to the basin outflow and what changes will happen if any of the sub-basin changes.Hydrologic engine room Center (2010). The Opening Chapters in Great Expectations and Jane Eyre Essays
How effective are the possible action chapters in Great Expectations and Jane Eyre?In my essay i will be explaining and comparing the opening paragraphsof Great Expectations ang Jane Eyre. The author of GreatExpectations is Charles Dickens (1812-70). Dickens was a middle classman who was well known and wealthy. He had his own magazine, calledAll the course of instruction round, in which he published Great Expectations overa period of 59 weeks one chapter a week was published his magazine. He wrote it in 1860 and it was published between December 1860 andAugust 1861.Jane Eyre was published in 1847 and written by Charlotte Bronte butunder the name of Currer Bell because it was hard for a women in theVictorian times to publish a book. She was born in Yorkshire but liveda short life of only 39 years (1816-55). It was non ripe her in herfamily that dies at a young age, she had two sisters who did not makeit to adulthood. She also had a brother and two surviving sisters. Herfather was a Vicar. She was not the only literate person in thefamily her sisters also had books published.Great Expectations starts off with Pip all alone in a desertedgraveyard smell at his immediate relatives gravestones. Then a manthreatens him ...Ill cut your throat The man is an escapedprisoner and instructs Pip to help him by inviteting his brother-in-lawstools to array his shackles off. Pip agrees to help him so that theprisoner does not kill him. He says if Pip tells anyone that he hasseen the man he is going to be killed by a young manJane is an orphan living with the Reed family. She is being bullied byJohn Reed, and is scared of him. Mrs Reed ignores the bullying eventhough it happens in battlefront of her ... ...n-laws tools to help the prisonerand how will Pip cope with the pressure of keeping a big secret.I think the cliff hanger in Jane Eyre is more sucessful because inGreat Expectations we can almost guess what is going to happen next,we can predict that Pip is going to he lp the prisoner and the prisonerhas made up the young man to scare Pip so he helps him.In Jane Eyre it is more of a cliff hanger because more questionshave to be answered later on in the book. We need to know what thered room is how long will Jane be in there for and is the bullyingfrom John Reed going to get worse.I think that Great Expectations is more sucessful because it hasmore of an effective plot which would make us want to read on. I donot chance that Jane Eyre has a strong enough plot to keep the readersattenion and it would not make us want to read on.

Ernest Hemingways Life and Image :: History
Ernest Hemingways Life and ImageErnest Hemingway was born on a July morning in 1899. Born at home in Oak Park, he was raised a conservative with strong values. magic spell his father taught him to hunt and fish, his mother taught him music, her former profession. Though his mothers music lessons helped him throughout his life, he didnt particularly enjoy the lessons and spent as much time in the woods as he could manage.Nature became Hemingways world, the place where he could go and pull from it the essence of his writing. No matter what happened in his life he could always find refuge in a quiet hayfield or a lulling forest. Inspired by nature, Hemingway used it to form a force that became both a backing and almost a character in his books, that would speak to a reader and tell them that a story wasnt over, simply because it never truly ends.People look back at Hemingways life as if it was one of his novels. He is not seen as a writer but as a personage of writing. At a raw age of 18, in 1917, Hemingway enlisted as an ambulance driver in World War I, after quitting his job at the Kansas City Star. Hemingway didnt make it three weeks into his service. While in Schio, Italy, he was injured by an exploding mortar, perforating his legs with shrapnel. In spite of this, it is said that he carried a wounded Italian to a first aid seat this earned him an Italian Silver Medal. For the next year, Hemingway used his insurance from the war to avoid work. He would spend his time at the library or intercommunicate about the war. Eventually he met Harriett Connable while speaking, who saw Hemingways confidence and control. Connable asked him to tutor her son. He accepted, as her husband introduced Hemingway to the editor of the Toronto Star Weekly, who he wrote for sluice when he moved to Paris. While in Paris he covered the Geneva Conference, and the Greco-Turkish War. Hemingway and his first wife Hadley moved back to Toronto though, when she became pregnant. In 1925, two age after his son John was born, Hemingway wrote In Our Time, and a year later The Sun Also Rises. These two novels were great successes, and led to his Farewell to Arms, which is considered by many another(prenominal) a paramount to all World War I novels.

Fuchs The American Way of Families: Is the Dream Really as Sweet as Apple Pie? :: essays research papers
Fuchs "The American Way of Families" Is the Dream Really as Sweet as Apple Pie?      at that place were a few aspects of Lawrence H. Fuchss essay The American Wayof Families that I found extraordinarily interesting. He discusses influencesof the modern American family that I found quite bizarre. Fuch excessively labels thekey component to the American family as be none other than the gratificationand pursuit of ones own self being. The most bizarre thing that overcame aft(prenominal)reading this piece was that I found myself to be in total agreement with Fuch. That is what scared me. I realized that something that is supposed to be so perpetual in ones own life is really as "cut and dry" as we would like to believe. In essence, the main premise of human existence is consolatory yourself at everylevel down to your basic foundation. We fight to make our own lives better attimes even at the cost of others. This holds square in almost every arena o fsociety that I tried to imagine after reading Fuchs essay. The only area oflife that this fight to play yourself above and beyond all does notpertain in my opinion is religion it is impossible to worship a being and tryto overcome that being at the same time. Whether it involves fighting to be ontop in the workplace or playing dirty to win a sporting typeface almost allAmericans have the fire burning within them that compels them to reach theirgoal or self satisfaction. In reading The American Way of Families, it occuredto me that the struggle for pleasing ones own self existed even in the family.     I dont think that after reading this piece that anyone can deny theexistence of this urge in themselves. The urge exists in every form. No matterhow picture perfect the family may be perceived, each member of that householdwants to please themselves. In this request to satisfy the appetite of happinesswe often overlook the feelings of others. For instance, suppo se that in afamily that consisted of two college graduates in the role of parent, were facedwith a child (that they brought up with all of their values and good intentions)that suddenly decides that he or she wants to move to Hollywood to become a rockstar. The land of Mesoamerica changes through time and conflict. It takes time to reach a maximum level of control, andcertain estimates of age can be made. When an area reaches the 4-5 range of political control, it is considered a state.
